4th Gen Tacoma Maintenance Schedule
The Maintenance Schedule
This is the complete 2024+ Toyota Tacoma maintenance schedule for the 4th Gen truck, covering both the i-FORCE gas engine and the i-FORCE MAX hybrid from 0 to 120,000 miles. Every service interval on this page comes straight from Toyota's official Warranty and Maintenance Guides: oil changes, tire rotations, filters, spark plugs, coolant, differential and transfer case inspections, and the big 30K, 60K, 90K, and 120K major services.
To make it easy to follow, you can download our free Excel maintenance tracker at the bottom of this page. It lists all 24 service visits with exactly what's due at each mileage, includes separate tabs for gas and hybrid trucks, flags which visits are covered free under ToyotaCare, and comes with Toyota part numbers and torque specs for DIY owners. Log your dates, mileage, and costs as you go and the tracker totals everything automatically, giving you a complete service history for your Tacoma.
Twenty-four visits, one repeating rhythm: every visit gets the basics, every 3rd visit gets inspections, every 6th visit is a major. I change oil every 5K based on my oil analysis data. Toyota's factory interval is 10K.
Every visit (5K)
Oil + filter, rotate tires, fluid levels, wiper check, visual brake inspection. Most of the 24 visits are just this.
Every 3rd visit
15K / 45K / 75K / 105K. Prop shaft re-torque + full inspection list: ball joints, brake lines, boots, coolant, diffs, steering, cabin filter.
Every 6th visit
30K / 60K / 90K / 120K. The majors. Engine + cabin air filters replaced, prop shaft re-torqued, brake thickness measured, transfer case oil inspected. 120K is the biggest: it adds spark plugs and the brake booster vacuum pump service.
One-offs
Plugs at 40K, 80K + 120K. Belts inspected from 60K. Coolant + intercooler coolant replaced at 100K. Hybrid adds an HV battery filter check every visit, cleaned every 20K.
ToyotaCare: Your First Visits Are Free
Every new Tacoma comes with ToyotaCare: free factory scheduled maintenance at any Toyota dealer, plus 2 years of roadside assistance with unlimited miles.
How long the free maintenance lasts depends on your model year. 2024 to 2026: 2 years or 25,000 miles. 2027 and newer: only 1 year or 10,000 miles. Whichever limit you hit first ends the coverage.
Two catches. ToyotaCare covers the factory schedule only, so extra 5K mile interval oil changes are on you. And it starts when the truck is first sold new, so used buyers only get whatever time and miles are left.
